Losing our Fire District?!
On July 31 the Rodeo-Hercules Fire District will vote to be annexed into Con Fire.
Wednesday 7/31/24 – 6:00 p.m. — MEETING LOCATION: City of Hercules, 111 Civic Drive, Hercules
If you haven’t heard about this, it’s because the RHFD board has done almost nothing to inform the people of the District. They know it’s unpopular, and have refused to put this on the November ballot for the voters to weigh in.
Taxpayers of Rodeo and Hercules will pay higher taxes than other communities receiving Con Fire service, and will be locked into paying higher taxes forever.Annexation is not necessary, the District has millions of dollars held in reserve.
The board has ignored advisory votes by its own Measure O Citizens Oversight Committee.
RHFD Director Steve Hill is not recused from the vote to annex to Con Fire, despite his obvious conflict of interest as Con Fire’s former Public Information Officer.
