In order to approve the County Land Use Permit for the Renewable Diesel conversion project at Phillips 66, the County, under the direction of Federal Glover for District 5, is negotiating a Community Benefits Agreement between P66 and communities local to the refinery. This money is to remediate possible/ probable harms to the community due to changes in polluting emissions, excessive noise emissions, and probable odor emissions, increased marine traffic, etc. Rodeo deserves 1 cent per gallon produced, as presented at the March 2022 Board of Supervisors meeting. Phillips 66 is receiving $3.32/gallon in State and Federal subsidies. We ask for one penny of that to remediate harms of the refinery processes. READ MORE
